An AIM Page is your face and space on the Web. AIM Pages' features and tools help you easily express yourself, connect with friends, family and others like you. When you create an AIM Page, you can include photos, videos, news, music and more. With our publishing tools, your can "skin" your page with different themes and choose modules that allow you to be as creative as you want. An indicator on your AIM Buddy List will notify you when your buddies update their AIM Pages.

There are several ways to access your AIM Page:
Return to Top There are several ways to view other people's AIM Pages, it's just a matter of which one is the easiest for you:
Return to Top The default setting is for every AIM Page to be searchable that is, viewable by anyone -- but you can change this setting. Go to the "Profile Settings" tab in "Quick Edit" mode and select the "Make my page private" radio button in the "Privacy" area.
When you mark your page as private, it will not come up when people search for it however, if someone knows your screen name or AIM Page URL, they will still be able to find your page. If they navigate to it directly and they are not in your buddy list, they will receive a message saying that the page is private and prompting them to send you a buddy request.

If they have you in their Buddy List window, a colored indicator will appear next to your screen name alerting them that you have made some changes. They can then click the indicator to see your changes and go to your AIM Page. They will also be alerted to your updates in the Buddy Feed once they sign in to AIM Pages Main.

We'll help you get started by automatically changing your old Member Directory page into a new AIM Pages. It's up to you to customize your page and play with all the new features from there.

In "Quick Edit" mode, if you've already signed in, you'll see an "Edit" menu in the upper right-hand corner of your AIM Page. If you do not see an "Edit" menu, you'll need to sign in first.
In "Advanced Edit" mode, sign in, navigate to your AIM Page, and click the "Edit" button.

Click "Save Changes" or "Publish," and all the changes made to your page will be saved. The page will then be available to the public. IMPORTANT NOTE: Your URL will be: www.aimpages.com/YourScreenName and will default to be searchable unless you change the setting in your "Basic Info" tab. If you opt out of Search, users will still be able to find you if they already know the URL for your AIM Page.

Exit or sign out of page edit mode before hitting "Save Changes," and you can start over.

To delete your page, you should first clear all the default information that is shown. To clear the default information,
Return to Top"Quick Edit" mode is for easy, code-free editing. Simply fill out some basic fields, and your page will be auto-created for you. There are fewer module and theme options than in "Advanced Edit" mode, but it is a faster way to create and modify pages.
"Advanced Edit" mode allows you to move modules anywhere you want on your page, and you can also write your own code. It's more involved, but gives you greater control.
Your Buddy Gallery will automatically be regenerated to match the new format. What that means is that you'll have to re-add your buddies from your Buddy List. You can choose to add all of your Buddy List, or enter the screen names individually.

Some will, some will not. If you have created a photo album, you will be able to reattach it in your new page; however, if you delete your page and recreate it, you will lose your existing Comments and Visitors.

A module is a piece of content that you can put on a Web site. Think of modules as the building blocks of your AIM Page. You decide which modules you put on your page, so mix and match them to make your page unique.

A theme is any background that you decide to place on your page. The easiest way to understand how themes work is to try them out! In "Page Style," click on a theme to see how your page looks with it, but remember to hit "Save Changes" for it to actually be applied.
Note: In "Advanced Edit" mode, you will hit "Publish" to apply Page Style changes.

Yes. You can create, upload and apply modules and themes as much as you like. They will become available under "User Created" in "Advanced Edit" mode. Go play!

This picture, or "minipic," will appear on your AIM Page, your friends' Buddy Galleries and elsewhere on the AIM Pages site. Please don't upload any copyrighted imagery or objectionable material, or your page will be removed entirely from the AIM Pages site.

Your minipic will appear on the left side unless you move it. You can change or edit your minipic in the "My Photo" tab. In "Advanced Edit" mode, just click on "Edit" in the top right corner of the minipic module to add or update your photo.

The drop-down boxes allow you to enter customized info to be displayed on your AIM Page. Don't want it to show up? You can leave any fields blank that you don't want to appear.

This is completely flexible -- create customized lists of everything you love. You can click the "X"s to remove sections or click "Add" for additional lists. Note: You cannot add links to this section.

Just add the title and URL of your favorite Web sites to create a customized list. Is it your site? Then let everyone know by clicking the check box on the right -hand side. You can add additional links by clicking on "Add Another Site," or remove fields by clicking the "X" button.

This section will allow you to enter any kind of HTML code you'd like -- you can use it to add video, RSS feeds, flesh out your text. It's completely flexible.

This section allows people to leave comments for you, and you can interact with them directly on your AIM Page. Of course, you have the control to delete anything objectionable as you see fit. You can also define who can post and receive a notification whenever someone has posted a comment.

In this area, you can define whether your profile is public or private and how your buddy requests are received. You can also reset your profile, which will delete most of the content of your AIM Page.

Want all of the buddies on your AIM Buddy List to appear on your AIM Page? No problem. Just select them all from your Buddy List. Want to pick and choose? You can do that too. You can even invite new people that you meet to appear in your Buddy Gallery by entering their individual screen names and clicking "Add." They will receive an invite to be displayed on your AIM Page.

You can set your Top 10 buddies as many times as you like, and these are the ones that will display on your AIM Page. The more you change your Top 10, the more friends you can show off. Mad at someone? Yank them out!

If you would like someone who is not on your Buddy List to be displayed in your Buddy Gallery, just enter their screen name and click "Add" in the "Add Buddies" section. They will receive an invite that they can either accept or decline. If they do not respond within 30 days, the invitation will expire. You can also invite your entire Buddy List if you'd like.

You can view all of the invites you have recently sent out under "Pending Invites" once you click on "Buddies." If anyone has requested to add you to their Buddy Gallery, you can find their invite by clicking on "Buddy Requests."

"Advanced Edit" will take you to a mode that has more features and flexibility. In "Advanced Edit" mode, you can add and remove even more modules from your page, rearrange modules on your existing page and access additional themes. If you created an AIM Page before Nov. 15, 2006,this is how you created it. You can still use this mode, or use the new "Quick Edit" mode, and we'll do the heavy lifting for you.

Click the "Add Modules'" button in the edit toolbar. A window will appear allowing you to scroll through different categories of modules. Simply click a module and drag it onto your page.

As you drag a module onto your page, a blue indicator bar will let you know where your module will be placed when you drop it.

Yes. Move your mouse over the module, and you will be able to "grab" the upper left-hand corner of the module and drag it wherever you want.

Simply click "Edit" in the upper right-hand corner of the module, make your changes, and then click "Publish" when complete.

Yes. If you see a module you like in the Module Gallery, you can save it until you're ready to place it on your AIM Page. Just click "Save for Later," and we'll store it for you. Whenever you return to update your page, the module you saved will be right at the top of the module chooser in "Edit" mode.

Clicking on the upper right-hand corner of a module will give you three options:
Return to Top "Style" allows you to create a unique AIM Page by customizing the theme, fonts, background color, background image or borders of your modules.
In "Quick Edit" mode, click on "Page Style," select a style, and click "Save Changes" to see how it looks.
In "Advanced Edit" mode, Click on the "Style" tab, locate a template you'd like to see, click the "Apply" button for that theme, and see what it looks like. If you like it and want to keep it, click "Publish". You will be able to customize colors and styles after you have applied the template once.

No. If you created your AIM Page before Nov. 15, 2006, it will still be the same as it was before, but you now have two ways to edit it. "Quick Edit" mode will allow you to make minor changes to basic modules existing on your AIM Page. If you add any additional modules from here, they will be added to the first two columns of your page. "Advanced Edit" mode will take you to the publishing options you've already been using.

"Quick Edit" mode allows you to create a two-column AIM Page, and you can also edit standard modules without entering the "Advanced Edit" mode. If you add any new modules from "Quick Edit" mode, they will be placed in the first two columns of your existing page. To move these around, you must enter "Advanced Edit " mode.
You can also now access your AIM Page ("Edit" menu) and your buddies' AIM Pages (right-click their screen name and select "View AIM Page") via your AIM Buddy List if you've already upgraded to AIM 6.0.

The Buddy Gallery module you had already will be auto-replaced with a new one, but you will have to re-invite any buddies that were in there to view them. You can select your entire Buddy List, add invidividual screen names from your Buddy List or invite new people you meet. Once you invite buddies, they will remain pending for 30 days. If they do not answer the invite within 30 days, they will be removed from the buddy request area.
